When Art Becomes a Journey
It is not simply a decorative object.
It is a fragment of travel, an echo of distant lands, a reflection of the soul.
“There is a certain magic in bringing an idea to life. It always begins as a whisper, a fleeting moment of inspiration — sometimes born from a place I’ve visited, a texture brushed beneath my fingertips, or a scent that transports me to another time. I love that delicate dance between memory, material, and imagination.”
As I prepare to unveil my Mirrors to the World collection, I invite you into the heart of its story — born from the meeting of two worlds: Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire.
The spark of inspiration
It all began during the Covid era.
I remember those days when every piece of news carried its share of tragedy. Confined and vulnerable, we searched for ways to escape. A few countries remained accessible. So we boarded a plane.
Destination: the Yucatán in Mexico — a land located about 500 miles from my native Jamaica, where I immediately felt… at home.
The warmth wrapped around me like a long-lost friend. There, the air seems to whisper the secrets of ancient Mayan civilizations.
The cenotes, those natural wells of hypnotic beauty, reflected the sky with an almost unreal clarity.

That is where the idea was born:
what if my mirrors were not simply objects… but portals to other worlds?
The raw textures of stone, the geometric motifs of the temples, the light filtering through the jungle… everything began to nourish my future creations.

An echo of West Africa
But the collection could not be complete without the imprint of Côte d’Ivoire, a land I carry deeply within me.
There, cowrie shells are not simple shells.
They are symbols of prosperity, spirituality, and protection.
The golden details of my mirrors pay tribute to Ashanti weights (Baoulé weights), witnesses to ancestral craftsmanship and timeless elegance.
Thus, two worlds converse within my creations.
The Yucatán brings light, raw strength, and memories of untamed nature.
Côte d’Ivoire offers its soul, its symbols, and its spiritual beauty.

The final touch: an inner journey
Each mirror in the Mirrors to the World collection is more than a simple reflection.
It is an invitation to explore one’s history, roots, and dreams.
The natural ropes recall the fishing nets of the Yucatán, while the cowries and pendants inspired by West Africa whisper stories of inner wealth, protection, and transmission.
More than a surface of glass, these mirrors become silent companions.
In those quiet moments when we meet our reflection, it is not only about seeing ourselves… but about encountering ourselves.
An intimate conversation with who we were, who we are, and who we are becoming.
Each frame I weave or shape is imagined as an almost sacred space — a fragment of soul meant to honor your presence.

The art of testing and refinement
I believe beauty should never compromise quality.
Nothing is left to chance. I test. Again and again.
I pay attention to every detail — even those the eye may not notice — because true craftsmanship is something you can feel.
Sometimes it means starting over. It requires a patience I do not always have… but one I continue to learn.
It is as much a pursuit of precision as it is an act of creation.
Then comes the final stage: choosing the materials, preparing the packaging, refining the visual identity, and presenting the piece.
Because for me, each creation is a complete experience.
I often think about the moment someone opens a handmade object.
This collection — like all the others — is not limited to objects.
It embodies an atmosphere.
A feeling.
A story that continues once it leaves my hands and enters your home.
And then what?
As the launch of Mirrors to the World approaches, my heart moves between excitement and apprehension.
Each mirror carries a part of me. Sharing it with the world is both intimidating and deeply liberating.
These creations are not meant to be admired from a distance.
They are made to live.
To inhabit your spaces.
To accompany your rituals.
To become the silent witnesses of your moments of quiet.
And I cannot wait to reveal them to you.
